Spotlight

A spotlight is a short-form interview with a leader in health tech. In this spotlight, you'll hear from Reuven Mashitz, founder and CEO of Careflow.
What does Careflow do?
Careflow is a referral and admissions platform built for long-term care providers.
We help facilities centralize inbound referrals, extract clinical and financial data automatically, verify insurance eligibility, and move patients from referral to admission faster—with full visibility for both frontline teams and leadership.
How did you end up working in health tech?
I came to this industry as an outsider and was struck by how fragmented and manual the referral and admissions process was – especially in post-acute care.
Careflow started as a way to remove friction from those workflows and give teams tools that actually match the pace and complexity of real healthcare operations.
How does your role intersect with revenue cycle management (RCM)?
RCM starts well before a claim is submitted. Our role is focused on the front end – making sure eligibility, benefits, payer details, and documentation are accurate before a patient is admitted. When that data is clean upfront, downstream billing, authorizations, and reimbursement become far more predictable.
What do you think RCM will look like two years from now?
RCM will be far more automated and API-driven, with less reliance on manual work and brittle processes.
The biggest shift will be earlier in the lifecycle – real-time eligibility, structured data exchange, and tighter integration between clinical, operational, and financial systems so revenue decisions happen proactively, not reactively.
